    How is it already November? With this new month dawning comes a whole new slate of stories, and they are all gathered here for you to catch up on with the Consequence’s latest Weekly Roundup.

    This was a week full of highs and lows: Friends star Matthew Perry tragically passed away in his home at the age of 54, reportedly drowning after a heart attack. While we mourn the beloved actor, there are some positive stories to focus on, as well. The Beatles made a return with their final track due to the assistance of AI, and Kendrick Lamar contributed a re-recorded verse for Taylor Swift’s deluxe edition of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). We also had Foo Fighters and Christopher Walken make an appearance on Saturday Night Live, and Green Day have released the details for their upcoming North American tour in 2024.

    Matthew Perry Dead at 54 — Star of Friends as fan-favorite character Chandler Bing, Matthew Perry has passed away at the age of 54. Reportedly suffering from cardiac arrest in his hot tub, there were no drugs found on the scene, as well as no signs of foul play. The former cast of Friends have come together to release a joint statement mourning his passing, along with numerous other celebrities chiming in to react to the news.

    The Beatles Release Final Track — Beginning as a demo made in 1979, The Beatles track “Now and Then” has finally been released, along with an accompanying music video. The final song featuring the four members of the band, the song was recently completed using AI technology with the help of Peter Jackson, and came out alongside a mini-documentary titled Now And Then – The Last Beatles Song.

    Kendrick Lamar Re-Records Verse for Taylor Swift — Merely hours after the release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Taylor Swift released the “deluxe edition” featuring a re-recorded version of Kendrick Lamar’’s verse from “Bad Blood.” The re-release of the album also came with five bonus vault tracks.

    Foo Fighters and Christopher Walken Shine on SNL — In his first appearance on the show in over a decade, Christopher Walken was a surprise guest on Saturday Night Live on Saturday, October 28th as a character named “Papa Pumpkin” during the cold open of the episode. Following this, he helped introduce the episode’s musical guest Foo Fighters, who performed “Rescued” and “The Glass” from their latest album, But Here We Are.

    Green Day Detail 2024 North American Tour — After teasing a tour at a concert earlier in October, Green Day has officially released the details for their upcoming tour to support their upcoming album, Saviors. With support from Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas, their slate of shows begins near the end of July 2024 and runs through September. Tickets for the North American “Saviors Tour” go on sale Friday, November 10th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
