Chicago’s Lee Loughnane on Christmas Hits, Upcoming Tour with Earth, Wind & Fire

    Chicago‘s Lee Loughnane joins Kyle Meredith to talk about the legendary band’s new holiday collection, Greatest Christmas Hits, and more. 

    The trumpet player discusses their group’s success with their three Christmas records. “I think it was actually more fun because there’s less competition, maybe,” Loughnane of explains writing holiday music over non-holiday music. “You know you’re gonna have a good song on the album and all you have to do is put the arrangement together.”

    He spoke highly of giving so many of their classic hits their Chicago sound and co-writing the original song “A Child’s Prayer.” Loughnane goes on to talk about covering The Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour” and what he thinks of the new song “Now and Then.” Lastly, he talked about how the band plans their live shows and tour. As for their upcoming summer 2024 tour? They’re touring with Earth, Wind, & Fire.
