Father John Misty has debuted his previously unreleased song, “Corpse Dance,” on a new live album recently recorded at the Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Stream it below.

Live at the Sunset Cultural Center includes all 18 songs from FJM’s solo show on December 15th, including the debut of “Corpse Dance.” Running nearly eight minutes long, it features Josh Tillman strumming on acoustic guitar while he sings, “She is patient/ The act of creation/ May one day produce a happy man.”

Elsewhere in the set, Tillman performed songs from his latest album Chloë and the Next 20th Century (“Chloë,” “Goodbye Mr. Blue”) alongside older cuts like “Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings,” “Nancy from Now On,” “I Love You, Honeybear,” “Chateau Lobby #4 (In C for Two Virgins),” and “Ballad of the Dying Man.” Stream the entirety of Live at the Sunset Cultural Center below.

Chloë and the Next 20th Century was released in April 2022. It’s currently unknown whether “Corpse Dance” will appear on a future project.
